Jonathan Lindsey

Founder and Managing Director

Jonathan’s working career started at age 15 when he rode his bike to a restaurant near his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and got a job washing dishes. He was making $4.75 per hour, but he loved to work. Hard work is a trait that follows him to this day. After spending summers in college working on oil rigs, Jonathan graduated from LSU with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and went to work for Chevron. He spent the next eight years working in oil and gas operations in the US, West Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Jonathan then began his career at Talos Energy where has spent the last eight years managing oil and gas operations in the US and Mexico. Jonathan still actively manages Deepwater Operations for Talos Energy.

Although he began making interesting investments years before graduate school, Jonathan’s passion for angel investing took hold while completing his Executive MBA at Rice University. Between his friends at Rice and his past 15 years in Houston, he has created a broad network that spans across various industries. He has been able to leverage that network to evaluate companies and pair startups with advisors. Jonathan’s goal at Comus put investors into early investment rounds with startup companies to maximize their returns. Jonathan is a member of the Rice Alumni Entrepreneurs and Innovators Roundtable and enjoys mentoring budding entrepreneurs. When not working at Talos or evaluating investments, Jonathan loves spending time with family, travelling, and being outdoors.
